Looking for a Spring Logic Puzzles Bundle for students going on or coming back from spring break? Why not take a look at this one?
I'm working on a new product line: logic puzzles! I've always found these fun to do, especially when there's an attached grid for marking off what you've learned from the clues provided. Most people mark the grids using ticks and crosses, but I've found it's very soothing to color in the grid squares using colored pencils. (Now I know why adult coloring books are so popular!)
My logic puzzles have a little twist to them in that the clues are written in rhyming verse, so students need to work a little more to figure them out.
For example, the first clue in the Spring Picnic Logic Puzzle (which is included in this bundle) reads:
Alice’s food is something neat,
A tasty treat with bread and meat.
Her pet has feathers small and bright,
The dress she wears is like firelight.
From this, students can use the grid to figure out (1) What food Alice brought to the picnic, (2) What pet Alice brought to the picnic, and (3) What color dress Alice is wearing.
This bundle contains three logic puzzles: Spring Picnic, Spring Cleaning, and Spring Desserts. Each logic puzzle has five characters and five rhyming verses. A one-page background story is also provided, and each logic puzzle comes with an answer key.
These logic puzzles would be suitable for native English speakers of grades 3-5, but I'd recommend them for intermediate (at least A2) rather than beginner ESL students as beginner students may find it a little difficult to understand the context of the rhyming clues, even if they know all the words.
Four pages are included for each logic puzzle:
- 1 story page
- 1 page with clues in rhyming verse
- 1 worksheet with grid and table
- 1 answer key
